Cao svima!

The spectral dispersion varies depending on the distance between the grating and the CCD sensor in the case of CCD imaging , and can be calculated by the following formula (source: Instruction manual sa 100) :

Dispersion (A / pixel) = 10000 * pixel size (um ) / [n - th lines mm * distance (mm) between the grating and CCD ]

therefore , in the case of a webcam pixels 5.6 micron and one SA placed at 35 mm from the CCD is:

10000 * 5.6 / [100 * 35 ] = 16 A / pixel

As you can see , it is rather low losses , which could lead to snub such a small instrument , suitable for use as non- serious , but it would be a errore.Ciò for the reasons mentioned before, which I summarize here :

1) - the possibility of resuming in the same field , even at high focal lengths , the image of order 0 of a star and its spectrum of order 1 , following directly on the star , especially the rooms with double sensor .

2 ) - the ability to reach magnitudes higher than a spectroscope true , with the same setup and the same condizioni.Io I was able to acquire spectra of very faint stars , in poor conditions and high light polluted skies such as those of Rome city , up to about 13-13.5 ^ May , albeit with instruments of the class of C14.In each case the registration of faint stars is a function of the opening of the telescope and of the sensitivity of the room , in other conditions being equal .

3 ) - it is a valuable aid for the detection of spectral class of a star and its main features , which can then possibly be thorough with an instrument resolution elevata.E ' is also a must for nine supernovae , BE and WR stars .
